The Team

Dr. Gabriela Lin earned her PhD in 2017 from the Genome and Systems Biology Degree Program, a joint initiative of Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. Her doctoral research in Meng-Chao Yao’s laboratory focused on programmed DNA rearrangements in Tetrahymena thermophila. During her postdoctoral training (2017–2022) at EPFL in Lausanne with Joachim Lingner, she developed QTIP-iPOND, a novel technique for identifying the telomere replisome, which plays a crucial role in counteracting telomere shortening and cellular senescence.
Since 2024, Dr. Lin has been a group leader and assistant professor in the Department of Life Sciences at National Chung Hsing University. Her lab investigates how telomeres maintain chromosome stability to regulate cellular lifespan and how small-activating RNAs enhance gene expression, employing multi-omics approaches to study aging and precision medicine.
Dr. Lin received an EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship from the European Molecular Biology Organization in 2018 and is currently a YuShan Young Fellow of the Ministry of Education.
