Dr. Gabriela Lin earned her Ph.D. in 2017 from the Genome and Systems Biology Degree Program, a joint initiative of Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. Her doctoral research, conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Meng-Chao Yao, focused on programmed DNA rearrangements in Tetrahymena thermophila.

    From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Lin pursued her postdoctoral training at EPFL in Lausanne under the mentorship of Dr. Joachim Lingner. During this time, she developed QTIP-iPOND, a novel technique for identifying the human telomere replisome, which plays a crucial role in counteracting telomere shortening and cellular senescence.

    In 2022, Dr. Lin joined MiNA Therapeutics as a Research Scientist and was promoted to Senior Scientist within 16 months. At MiNA, she collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to investigate the mechanism of action and chemical modifications of small activating RNAs. She also contributed to the development of therapeutic oligonucleotide strategies for sickle cell disease and thalassemia.

    Since 2024, Dr. Lin has served as a Group Leader and Assistant Professor in the Department of Life Sciences at National Chung Hsing University. Her research focuses on how telomeres maintain chromosome stability and regulate cellular lifespan, as well as how small activating RNAs enhance gene expression. Her lab employs multi-omics approaches to study aging and advance precision medicine.

    Dr. Lin received an EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship from the European Molecular Biology Organization in 2018 and is currently a YuShan Young Fellow of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
